For students who need extra cash for school books this upcoming semester the Colorado State University-Pueblo bookstore may be your answer.
There is a $100 gift certificate drawing that will be given to one student and to one faculty or staff member to the CSU-Pueblo bookstore for participating in a tobacco survey.
The tobacco survey takes about five to 10 minutes, and it will provide information on tobacco usage and attitudes about tobacco on campus.
“We are just trying to collect information about students attitudes toward tobacco usage and if students would want a tobacco free campus,” said Carol Foust, the chair and professor of the Department of Exercise Science, Health Promotion and Recreation.
Participants will be entered into a drawing for the gift certificate. Students will be entered into one drawing and faculty and staff into a separate one.
The survey will gather statistics about students support or non-support of having CSU-Pueblo be a tobacco free campus.
“I hate when I am walking in between classes and have to walk behind someone who is smoking,” said Steve Ortega, a 22-year-old junior studying mass communications at CSU-Pueblo.
There are many perspectives on a tobacco free campus and some students are concerned with the littering smoking leads to.
“I really want to know why there are so many cigarette butts everywhere,” Ortega said. “Isn’t there any ashtrays or do smokers just not care?”
The survey will not track your IP address so you must provide contact information if you want to be included in the drawing.
