The ThunderWolves tried hard to seek their first win over Metro State Roadrunners since 1999, but in the end they lost in three sets.

“Yesterday it was emotional high, tonight it was down,” said Head Coach Chris Johnson.

Both teams played volleyball at a very high-level during the first set. They showed good moves, especially very strong attacks that made it even harder for one of the team to take the lead. After a score of 11-12 for the Roadrunners, they took their chance and got on a run to a score of 11-20. In the end the T-Wolves lost the first set 18-25.

In the second set the T-Wolves tried hard to stay in the game. Both teams showed a lot of effort and tried to defeat the ball, but the T-Wolves always stayed one step behind the Roadrunners. The ThunderWolves had too many inaccuracies in their game. The Roadrunners took the lead to 13-18, and finally won the second set 25-18.

The T-Wolves found back in the game in the third set and stayed close with the Roadrunners. They showed a lot of passion and effort that they want to win this set. No team gave the other one the opportunity to take the leadership, but after a tie of 19-19 the T-Wolves took it over. It was not enough; finally the T-Wolves lost the third set 24-26.

The Thunderwolves will try to win the next game when they will play against Adams State, Coach Johnson said.

“We want to win every game,” he said.
