For CSU-Pueblo students who are looking to start Halloween early, there is no shortage of events taking place in and around Pueblo this weekend.

To those who are looking for an event on campus, the Black Student Organization will host a Halloween Costume Party at the OUC Underground Friday, from 8 p.m., to midnight. For more information contact BSO at 719-549-2658, or [email protected].
Downtown Pueblo will have events going on as well. The Union Depot is currently having its 11th annual Train of Terror, which will continue to run from tonight until Halloween. The attraction contains three box cars for thrill seekers to pass through; Death’s Door Dining Room, Purgatory Kitchen and the Afterlife Café.
The train will be open Friday and Saturday, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday and Monday, from 7 p.m. to10 p.m. The cost to enter the train is $5 per person. For more information call 719-544-0020.
Also downtown will be the seventh annual Halloween Party for The Favorite Tavern. The party will be held Saturday, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., with free admission, food and giveaways. There will be a costume contest with prizes going to the top three choices, as well as drink specials. For more information call 719-545-7777.
Other local bars will also be having costume parties. Legends Bar will host its party Saturday from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. There will be cash prizes for the top three costumes. Third place will get $25, second will get $50 and first place will leave with $100. For more information call 719-561-3175.
The Riverside Bar and Grill will also host its Halloween party on Saturday night. The event will start at 9 p.m., with music by The Austin Johnson Band.
The costume contest will also see the winner claiming a $100 prize, with gift certificates of $50 and $25 going to the second and third place winners. There will be no cover charge but you must be 21 years old to enter. For more information call 719-543-2037.
There will also be a haunted maze as Epic Entertainment will provide Nightmare on the Boulevard, starting Friday until Monday, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Admission is $5 and children must be at least 10 years old to enter. For more information call 719-406-7533.
For those with children under 10 years old, the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center and Buell Children’s Museum will host their annual Puebloween event Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event will include a mystery gallery along with magic tricks by the Incredible Mr. E. Admission is $4 for adults and $3 for children and those in the military. All children under the age of two get in free.
Some may wish to take to the outdoors and walk down Hell’s Trail 6. The haunted trail is 1 mile in length and is not recommended for children under eight or for the faint at heart.
