The Second City: Laughing Matters, Chicago’s nationally recognized legendary sketch comedy show, will appear at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at the Hoag Recital Hall at Colorado State University- Pueblo.
The show will feature some of the best sketches, songs and improvisations from the 50 plus year history of Second City.
While the tragedies and grieves had been hitting the world with great mental depression, The Second City is trying to bring comic relief through some well needed silliness and hilarious spontaneity.
The Second City is celebrating more than 50 years of cutting edge satiric revues and continuing to deliver the leading voice in comedy, while touring the globe. The scripted and improvisational elements included in the show, makes the show very popular to its audiences, as they have enjoyed playing along with the next generation of comic legends.
The Second City was founded in Chicago and in 1959 and has become the premier training ground for the best and brightest of the comedy world.
Its alumni list possesses several successful names in American comedy including: Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Joan Rivers, Robert Klein, Peter Boyle, Harold Ramis, John Beluish, Glida Radner, Martin Short, John Candy, Shelley Long, Chris Farley, Mike Myers and Tina Fey among others.
Admission for the CSU-Pueblo students, faculty and staff and for the Pueblo community is free. However, seating is on first-come, first-serve basis due to limited space.
The Second City is not recommended for children as it uses strong language and possesses sexually explicit content.
