CSU-Pueblo plans to host an affordable dinner for students and their sweethearts on Valentine’s Day.
The Sweetheart Dinner will be provided by Chartwells Catering Service and held in the Hearthwell Lounge of the Occhiato University Center at CSU-Pueblo.
“This is the third year for the Sweetheart Dinner,” said Elise Solano, marketing administrator for Chartwells Catering Service. “We started it as a way for the students to do something special for themselves on Valentine’s Day that didn’t require a lot of money. I remember how it was to be a student with not a lot of money.”
The dinner costs $8 a person, or students can use their meal plan cards in which case will only cost them one meal, Solano said.
Seating is limited to the first 14 couples to reserve a table and students can either reserve a table for two or for parties of four to six people, Solano said and the reservation time slots that will be available are for 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Couples will be served a three course meal, Solano said. The first course will be a fresh spring mixed salad. For the second course, students have the option of a London broil or chicken stuffed with Portobello mushrooms and sundried tomatoes, with a choice of duchess potatoes or fresh seasoned vegetables. The third course will be a dessert for sweethearts to share at the end of their meal, she said.
The last day for students to reserve a spot is Friday, Feb. 11. To reserve a table text “reserve” to (719)924-5896 or contact student dining services at (719)549-2918.
