Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read.
The last week in September the Colorado State University-Pueblo Library Academic Resource Center displayed a group of banned books as a way to highlight the value of free and open access to information. “Banned Books Week brings together the entire book community — librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers — in shared support of the freedom to seek and express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular,” The Academic Library Association website reads. Here is a look at the books the LARC displayed.
