This edition of “The Today” is unique, as we have decided to explore the world of cannabis and the greater cannabis industry. When this package was first brought up in one of our planning sessions one thing that was unilaterally accepted was that this would be a serious endeavor.
If you are expecting to read “Top 10 edible recipes” or “How Snoop smokes so much” I’m sorry to say that you will not find that here. While, yes, cannabis can be fun, it and the industry have had a major impact on Pueblo County and Colorado. On top of that, this year will mark the 10th anniversary of Coloradans voting to pass Amendment 64.
We at “The Today” have put serious time and consideration into the different perspectives, opinions and experiences surrounding cannabis use that affect all of our lives. It is also vital we pursue this discussion, as the U.S. House of Representatives has voted to pass the MORE Act, or the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement Act. If passed by the Senate and signed by President Joe Biden, it would end the federal ban and allow states to determine whether they should legalize or not.
