The Student Recreation Center offers a variety of resources and opportunities for students on campus at Colorado State University Pueblo. The Today interviewed Calvin Diggs, director of ThunderWolf recreation at the rec center.
Fitness classes, including Pilates and ab workouts are offered. Outdoor recreation trips are offered through Outdoor Pursuits, which is a program designed to offer adventure trips to students, faculty and local Pueblo community members. They have an upcoming bike to yoga trip on Saturday, April 19.
The Rec Center also offers intramural clubs and tournaments for students to participate in, such as a 3v3 basketball league, 5v5 soccer league, a ping-pong tournament, a 6v6 volleyball tournament, a Madden (video game) tournament, and a college football tournament.
According to Diggs, its dodgeball tournament is tomorrow night, April 3.
Some upcoming intramural sports that students can look out for include an intramural flag football league and a pickleball tournament.
“It’s primarily our responsibility to make sure that students have a holistic approach as far as being engaged,” said Diggs.
