Taylor Souther is a senior in the Media & Entertainment department at Colorado State University Pueblo. She is the station manager of the university’s radio station “The Revolution 89.5,” which helps shape the sound of student media and gives a platform to local artists.
The upcoming Steel City Music Showcase will feature a mix of genres, highlighting everything from country, hip-hop, pop and more. Local Pueblo artists such as Cody Cozz, Mariachi Diamante, Morgan J. Cox, The RageTones and others are scheduled to perform this weekend.
The showcase, taking place the evenings of April 11 and 12, is spread across five stages in downtown Pueblo, with one of those stages being the CSU Pueblo stage at La Bella Union Plaza. Souther will be managing sound engineering at that stage.
“I’m going to be running sound alongside one of our other Media and Entertainment students… so mixing all the bands and everything should be pretty exciting,” Souther said.
Souther plans to attend graduate school at Middle Tennessee State University. There she hopes to pursue a career in the audio production field.
Souther’s dedication, leadership, and love for audio is clear and her involvement with the Steel City Music Showcase is a reflection of that vision.
