CSU-Pueblo’s director of Human Resources, Ken Nufer stepped down to begin a career as director of HR at Pueblo Community College, starting August 15, according to a campus-wide email.
Nufer’s last day at CSU-Pueblo will be August 12.
CSU-Pueblo’s HR department works to hire individuals whose qualifications best suit available positions within the university, according to the department’s website.
The email, written by Michael Farley, CSU-Pueblo’s interim vice president of Finance and Administration, praised Nufer for his service at CSU-Pueblo.
“He has provided the University with excellent guidance and resolved many disputes. Ken has exemplified service above self and has provided a shoulder to lean on,” Farley said.
Beginning August 1, the CSU-Pueblo HR department will be led by Susan Benesch as the interim director of HR, according to the email.
“Susan brings a wealth of talent to the position and possesses an incredible work ethic. Her ability to collaborate with campus and bring solutions is well documented,” Farley said in the email.
Benesch joined the CSU-Pueblo team in March 2001 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Northern Colorado. Benesch is certified in job evaluation and was the 2009-2010 CSU-Pueblo Administrative Professional Employee of the Year. She also received the 2010 Outstanding Professional Employee Award with Colorado’s 10th Judicial District, the email said.
She has 13 years of state service and is well-versed in human resource matters, solves problems with innovation and possesses a strong collaborative style, according to the email.
