The Career Center at Colorado State University-Pueblo has subscribed to an online resume building service that’s free to students.
Optimalresume.com has tools for students to make resumes and cover letters and learn other job-related skills like practice interviews.
Students can create an interactive personal resume Web site using the service and give the link to potential employers.
“It creates great employment search documents while teaching valuable resume writing skills,” said Michelle Gjerde, Career Center director.
Students can go to www.colostate-pueblo.edu/careercenter/student to use the service or to the Career Center for more information.
The Career Center is also holding a free workshop on Nov. 19 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. or 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. to show students how to use optimalresume.com. It will take place in the Occhiato University Center Computer Lab. Reservations are required. Call the Career Center at 549-2980 or go to room 103 in the OUC to make reservations.
