Name/department/educational background: Dusty Parsons, freshman business major, graduate of Primero Junior/Senior High School–Las Animas County

What has been your greatest success in writing? (Personal writing, collaborative writing, completing a project or book, etc.) My greatest writing success has got to be a final paper I wrote in my previous English class. It was a biography on the author, Langston Hughes.

What do you struggle with in writing and how do you tackle that challenge? My worst struggle in writing is the writing itself. I am capable and willing, but I have a tendency to procrastinate. At some point, I get right down to it and force words from my hand.

What’s your favorite book of all time? Author? My favorite  book(s) of all time are “Ender’s Game,” “Ender’s Shadow” and “Children of the Mind” by Orson Scott Card.

What are you currently reading? Author? My current book is “The Named” by Marianne Curley.

What’s your favorite guilty reading pleasure, an easy, “beach” read? My favorite guilty reading pleasure would be Calvin and Hobbes.

Do you have a favorite word or quotation and who is the author? I really don’t have one single favorite quote.
