The CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves volleyball team needed a win to resurrect any hopes of making the eight-team Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament, but they fell to Adams State College in three sets, 25-22, 25-18, 25-20.
With the score tied at six in the first set, the T-Wolves found their rhythm and pushed the lead to 19-14. The Grizzlies responded with a 7-2 run to tie the score at 21-21 and won 11 of the sets final 14 points to take the first set 25-22.
In the second set, there was no flow in the game because both teams made too many errors and lost the ball easily. The score remained close until Adams State score six unanswered points with the score tied at 16, to break open a tied second set.
In the beginning of the third set, the Grizzlies took control and never let go of the lead. Adams State opened up a 20-13 advantage, and in the end they won the third set 25-20.
CSU-Pueblo freshman Janea Heiser led the ThunderWolves with seven kills, followed by sophomore’s Alea Wildman and Bernadette Pitre, who both had six kills.
