Memorial services for Barbara Watson will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 13 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2203 E. 13th St.
Watson, a former administrative assistant with the Residence Life and Housing Office in Belmont Residence Hall at Colorado State University-Pueblo, died last Friday following complications from heart surgery.
Watson is survived by her mother, Lillie Fisher; children Steve (Shannon) Watson, and Mitzi and Nicole Watson; grandchildren Destini, Avieon, Myleah, Tyieshia, Karissa, Richelle, Caitlin, Stephan and Olivia Watson; and siblings Lillie Molden, Ida Mae Randal, Marcellus Nance Jr. and George Nance, according to Cora Zaletel, CSU-Pueblo’s executive director of External Affairs.
Zaletel said Watson was a minister with Jehovah’s Witnesses for 23 years, and had served the university for 24 years. She said Watson joined CSU-Pueblo as a trainee in 1985, was promoted to clerical assistant in 1986 and accepted a position in Continuing Education in 1987.
In 1994, Watson’s position changed to administrative assistant II, Zaletel said, and in 1998 she was promoted to an Administrative Assistant III in Residence Life.
Watson retired Dec. 31, 2009.
