Women who would like an opportunity to play on the Colorado State University-Pueblo team will have the opportunity to try out for the team this week.
Softball walk-on tryouts start at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, on field one at the Rawlings Softball Complex at CSU-Pueblo.
“They (applicants) have to have a physical, they have to have a copy of their insurance card and they have to have the on-campus tryout form filled out,” Stephanie Hughes, assistant softball coach, said. She said there will be additional forms provided at the tryouts.
Shane Showalter, softball coach, said he and Hughes opened up the tryouts to female athletes at CSU-Pueblo.
“The tryout itself is more or less just like a game,” Showalter said, and will take approximately two hours.
