Students don’t have to be an athlete to play

By: Alex Jara

The purpose of Intramural sports at Colorado State University-Pueblo is to provide all students for an opportunity in recreational sports. Intramural sports are popular activities on campus that allow students to get away from hitting the books for a little while.

CSU-Pueblo Intramural Sports have been around for quite some time and offer sports like: Sand Volleyball, Flag Football, Outdoor Soccer, CoRec Volleyball, CoRec Softball and CoRec Basketball. They also offer activities like Ultimate Frisbee, Poker, Video Game Tournaments and knocker ball.

Students are available to purchase an IM play pass that is $20 which covers the semester and $35 will cover the entire year without any additional charge. These passes can be found at the Recreation Center.

In order to sign up, you will need to make an account on IMleagues.com! You will need to sign up with your @pack.csupueblo email account. After that, you have full access to all Intramural Sports

Jobs are also an addition to Intramural Sports. Students that are interested can learn more by contacting 719.549.2087 for more info!

“We’ve been really focusing on getting our marketing team together, so student know what available to them….a lot viral marketing techniques, social media, Snapchat, just so students can see the different things we can offer.” said Bill Moorman the assistant director of Recreation for Intermural Club Sports and summer Camps. “

At the end of the day no matter who wins the primary goal is to have fun. The Student Recreation’s Intramural Sports Program emphasizes fun, recreation, health, wellness, teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, social interaction, as well as cultural and gender sensitivity.

There are opportunities giving students leadership experience and an opportunity to develop their people skills.

Student don’t have to worry about not making the team sport that they like or having to deal with practice, or even their parents yelling from the crowd. This is a great way to get active with your friends and where future friendships begin.

The greatest part of intramurals will be the memories and friendships you make throughout your college career. These memories will live on with you and your friends for a lifetime.
