CSU-Pueblo’s lacrosse team faced off against the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs on March 8 at the multi-use field. CSU-Pueblo put up a good fight but with lack of experienced players the team could not come out on top of UCCS. The game ended with a final score of 7 to 4. (See video at end of story.)
The first half was scoreless for the Thunderwolves but UCCS managed to get three past the CSU-Pueblo goalie Brandon Long, with this being his first game in the goal.
The second half started off well when 10-year lacrosse vet Loghan O’Hayre scored the first goal for the home team. O’Hayre is in his fifth year with CSU-Pueblo’s team.
Following in the same suit later on was Drake DiNero who scored the second goal for the team. O’Hayre soon came back with two more goals.
UCCS pulled through with four more in the second half ending the game on top.
The two teams may have a rematch in store in a game that’s tentatively set for March 21.
