CSU-Pueblo junior outfielder Thomas Cordova was recognized on Wednesday as a member of the Daktronics Division II All-West Region second team.
Cordova, who led the ThunderWolves in most major offensive categories, including home runs (11), RBI (62), and slugging percentage (.673), finished third on the team in hitting with a .393 batting average. Cordova was also among the national leaders in doubles, recording 24 two-baggers in 2008, the 24th most in the country.
Overall, Cordova’s 2008 season was one the most productive offensively in CSU-Pueblo history. His 62 RBI makes him just one of 20 players in school history to drive in 60 or more runs in a season. He is the first ThunderWolf to reach the plateau since 2006.
