The Pack’s dominance continued Saturday, March 17, with a sweep of their double header against defending RMAC champs, the Regis Rangers.
Even though the Pack fell behind in the early innings, they would come on strong late in the game to complete the sweep against Regis.
The second game started off with the Rangers scoring two runs in the top of the third inning that gave them the early lead. Those would be the last runs of the day for Regis. After the third inning ThunderWolves pitcher Justine Bosio would settle down and take control of the game.
Bosio would not allow another run and only gave up two more hits for the rest of the game. Her performance on the mound allowed the Pack a chance to rally, and rally back they did. The Pack scored two runs in the bottom of the third and fourth innings. These runs gave the ThunderWolves a 4-2 lead as they headed into the later innings.
A leadoff homerun from Sarah Bosshart would add another insurance run for the Pack in the bottom of the sixth. Samantha Rios would also reach base on a bunt single and later score off a Snyder triple. The added insurance runs would be more than enough, as the ThunderWolves defeated the Rangers 6-2 in the second game.
The Pack’s record improved to 11-7 overall and 9-5 in the conference. More impressive is the lady ThunderWolves’ continued success at home with their 8-2 record at Rawlings Field. Bosio achieved her sixth win of the season.
The ThunderWolves would also sweep the Rangers in the double header that following Sunday. Next weekend, the Pack will be away to face Ft. Lewis in a four game series, starting with a double header Saturday, March 24, at noon.
