The Career Center will be providing current CSU-Pueblo upperclassmen with the opportunity to learn proper business dining manners when they sponsor the Dining for Success Etiquette Dinner, Nov. 3.

The event, which has previously been held in the OUC Ballroom, will take place Thursday from 5:15 to 8:30 p.m., at the Pueblo Convention Center. The dinner is open strictly for CSU-Pueblo juniors, seniors and graduate students.

The dinner has become an annual event for the Career Center, and aims at providing students tips on networking, as well as dining etiquette to help them prepare for situations they may face in the future. It also allows them the chance to network with community leaders and professionals.

The previous event in February, which drew approximately 152 students, welcomed a key-note speaker representing Enterprise Rent-A-Car and a chef and professor from Johnson and Wales University -Denver.

Students were also treated to a five-course meal in which they were instructed on the proper utensils to use for each course and strategies for eating certain foods properly.

Check in for the event begins at 5:15 p.m., and will be followed by an hour-long networking reception from 5:30-6:30 p.m., which will allow students the opportunity to meet and talk with other students and business professionals. Dinner will then be served at 6:45 p.m.

There is no fee to attend the event, however professional dress attire is required. Students must first register with the Career Center in order to attend. They can register by emailing [email protected] or by calling 719-549-2583. Registration must be done by Oct. 31, as space is limited.

Along with the CSU-Pueblo Career Center, the event will also be sponsored by the Pueblo Convention Center, Northwestern Mutual and the Student Fees at Work program.
