Outdoor Pursuits to sponsor ski trip to Monarch

The Outdoor Pursuits Program at Colorado State University-Pueblo is hosting its second ski trip of the year, a trip to Monarch Ski Area on Dec. 5.

The one-day trip will start at 6:30 a.m. at the student recreation center and last all day. The trip will cost $35 for co-op members, a $25 program with equipment rentals through the recreation center, and $40 for non-members.

For faculty the trip will cost $50 and for community members it will be $60. Total fees include transportation, a lift ticket and lunch.

Fees do not include equipment rentals. A $5 student discount is available at The Edge, a local ski shop located on Union Ave. in Pueblo.

Information can be found on the Outdoor Pursuits Program calendar, which is located on the CSU-Pueblo Web site. The program has its own page with information about upcoming event and activities that students and the community can take advantage of.

To receive discounts on trips and other activities through the Outdoor Pursuits Program, the co-op program is running a special until the end of the semester. The special is $15 for the remainder of the semester instead of $25. Each semester students have to renew their membership to the co-op program.

Students are to sign in at the equipment rentals before leaving for the trip. Spots are filling up fast so sign up now at the student recreation center to guarantee your spot.

Great news. This season is already looking good. Monarch received 18″ of snow last week, and this has packed into a nice solid base. One more storm, and they will be ready to open!

      Enjoy your ski day.
