    Spotlight on Reading/Writing: Rebecca Parrish

The TODAY’s Spotlight on Reading/Writing features CSU-Pueblo faculty and staff sharing their reading and writing experiences. The column is co-sponsored by the English and Foreign Languages Department and the English Club. This week’s feature highlights Rebecca Parrish, who was interviewed by CSU-Pueblo student Sean Fitzgerald.rparrish.jpg
    Name: Rebecca Parrish

    University position: Academic Advisor

Educational background: MS in sports management and BA in mass communications

Favorite book of all time:  “My Sister’s Keeper” by Jodi Picoult

Favorite guilty reading pleasure: I enjoy love stories and anything by Nicholas Sparks

Favorite quote: “God doesn’t give you the people you want. He gives you the people who need to help you, to hurt you, to love you, to leave you and to make you into the person you were meant to be.” (from a bumper sticker)

Your greatest writing success and how you accomplished it: I received a master’s degree. That is a lot of research and writing.

Your most challenging writing experience: Getting motivated to finish my last paper for my master’s program.

What are you currently reading: “Under the Banner of Heaven,” by Jon Krakauer. It’s about the early days of the Mormon Church.
