Pueblo is known for people showing love to the community, but when it comes to finding entertainment, Analogue Books & Records will never disappoint. According to Analogue’s website, in 2012, “the Hartkop Family opened the first Solar Roast Cafe; since then, the business has only expanded. The Analogue Books & Record store opened its doors in December 2020. The Analogue Bar began operations in October 2021.”

Customers can now enter, grab a drink, cocktail, or cup of coffee and browse the extensive collection of vinyl records and new and used books from all ages! The Analogue family adores Pueblo-area creatives and proudly presents weekly live music concerts, Colorado-based author readings, children’s Sunday storytimes, and a changing exhibition of work by regional artists.

Kristin Hoffman, the General manager of Analogue, stated, “I think Analogue is a hidden gem in Pueblo that almost any locals are aware of; my objective has been to assist the owners in fostering a sense of community and promoting the work of regional artists throughout Colorado.”

Hoffman explained, “Our monthly live music series is by far the most well-attended event. Since March 2022, we have offered a free stage to a range of musicians in the neighborhood! On Fridays, local restaurateur Chef Harvey brings the Steel City Cafe food truck and offers delectable fare from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Every Wednesday night in our bar, we also host Cocktail Hour, where we serve specialty cocktails while live pianists play. Beyond that, we hold regular events for nearby authors, and established writers provide readings from their work, followed by a Q&A and signing session. Inkwell, a monthly open mic for creative writing that we host, is incredibly well-liked by the local writers.”

Hoffman continued, “We also have a recurring art exhibition where regional artists can display and market their creations. We also offer a free children’s storytime every Friday at 10 a.m. There is also our Book Club, which is becoming increasingly well-known. With our Reading Club, I’ve seen many people new to Pueblo develop sincere connections, and it is heartwarming to watch. We have quite a few CSU Pueblo students come into the shop, but I’m amazed we don’t have more roll in,” stated Hoffman.

“They must not be aware that we are here because I do not doubt they would adore it if they were. It’s a terrific spot to unwind, study, listen to music and hang out. It’s also a terrific place for a first date because you can get a drink in the bar, browse the bookstore and discuss your favorite authors and songs with your date! In my opinion, there isn’t a more enjoyable approach to getting to know someone,” she said.

Adrian Gomez, a visitor to the Pueblo area, stated, “I’m only here to see my family. Never previously have I heard of this location. At Solar Roast is where I first noticed Analogue Books, Records & Bar. As I enjoyed reading, I went in, but it was not what I had anticipated. I would advise anyone to come here because of the welcoming atmosphere, the variety of music genres, the drinks they offer, and the selection of books. Come check out this place, even if you’re searching for something to do.”
